Guarantee & Product Care

Guarantee & Product Care

All Timber Furniture made by The Natural Bedding Company comes with a 10 year manufacturers guarantee.

The Natural Bedding Company guarantee covers the following:

  • Manufacturing defect
  • Material defect

The Natural Bedding Company guarantee does not cover the following:

  • Picking up/ collecting or delivering any returned goods under warranty. Charges will apply for this service as per consumer law.
  • A base that is found by TNBC to be in a stained or unsanitary condition.
  • A base that is not to your liking such as being too large or too small for your space.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage caused by mishandling.
  • Base damage caused by fittings not having been kept sufficiently tight.

Cleaning your Tasmanian Oak furniture:

Wipe down with a damp cloth to remove dust or any spills. Do not use furniture sprays or any harsh chemicals to clean as this may affect the colour of your furniture.

We advise trying to avoid exposing the wood to direct heat and sunlight for prolonged periods of time as well as maintaining consistent humidity in the space. This will help prevent excessive expansion and contraction of the timber. Over time, air and sunlight will cause a slight change in the colour of the timber and stain.

The assembly instructions will be included with your base, for any product care or assembly questions please email support@naturalbedding.com.au

Our warehouse team do their best to check every item prior to shipment, however if a product has slipped through the cracks and you receive something that contains a fault please reach out to us so we can rectify this for you.

Tasmanian Oak

(All furniture)

The untreated Tasmanian Oak used in our furniture has been sustainably harvested from regrowth forest and holds the Responsible Wood PEFC certification. Once logged the timber is taken to a local sawmill to be cut into various sizes with the aim of maximising recovery from the log and reducing wastage. The timber is then stacked and allowed to dry naturally. Once the moisture content reduces to a suitable level (which takes many months), the stacks are then transferred to drying kilns. There are no chemical or treatments used throughout these processes, the correct drying of timber is the most critical part of the production process both for efficient recovery and quality control.

Untreated Radiata Pine

(Lo-line only)

The pine we use is select grade untreated radiata pine from New Zealand. This pine has not been treated with formaldehyde or other chemicals like structural pine is. Instead, it is simply kiln-dried, similar to the Tasmanian Oak, which kills any pests or microbes and gives it its strength.

Livos Stains

(Used on all furniture except for Lo-line)

For our Tasmanian Oak furniture we use plant based, non toxic wood oil stains. The clear stain choice has no pigment, it is a transparent, gloss, water resistant, open pored finish that simply highlights the natural colour of the wood. The other stain choices will add a layer of tint over the timber without disgusing the natural features of the wood. These stains produce a protective surface film but there are no chemical agent added to protect the wood from spills or stains. The waxy satin finish coat will however prevent water from penetrating the timber.

Shipping

We can deliver within the Sydney metropolitan region from Monday to Friday between 8:30am - 3:30pm and this includes assembly (we need a clear and safe space for this). Unfortunately, we can’t move or get rid of your old furniture for you. For most other locations in Australia** we can organise delivery with a courier or freight company – there is no set cost as it depends on size and weight, as well as where you live. These couriers will require assistance when your furniture and/or mattress arrives.

** Due to handling and previous issues with product damage some of our furniture pieces cannot be shipped Australia wide, please contact us for more information.

To check freight charges for your location before placing an order, use the estimate shipping tool at checkout, or feel free to contact us. Depending on the item/s and the delivery location, in some circumstances unusually high freight charges may be incurred. If you want to organise pickup from a depot in a major city this can significantly reduce freight costs.

Returns and Exchanges

We do not offer change of mind returns or exchanges on our furniture pieces as they are produced on a made to order basis. If there is an issue with a faulty item, we will repair or replace it.

Items that are purchased during a sale, custom made, ordered in specially for you or at a discounted price, are not able to be returned or exchanged unless faulty. All mattresses, toppers and furniture are not returnable or exchangeable unless faulty.
